“Lake Baikal Airport” JSC became a laureate of reward “For great progress in flight safety providing”

On the 12th of May in Moscow “Lake Baikal Airport” Joint Stock Company represented by the general director Nevzorov S.A. was presented with reward of non-commercial partnership “Flight safety” “For great progress in flight safety providing”. Diploma and special prize of partnership was presented by the management chairman, military leader of the USSR and Russia, air marshal Shaposhnikov E.I. The reward distinguishes air organizations (air companies, air technical bases and other), which provide unfailing service during long period (not less than 10 years) and achieved the great progress in flight safety providing. There were chief of Rosaviation Neradko A.V. and deputy chief of Rostransnadzor Chertok V.B. in the meeting.

Representatives of organizations of air branch of Russia have taken part in rewarding ceremony. Rewarding were in following categories: “For great progress in flight safety providing”, “For great progress in flight safety providing in air traffic organization”, “For outstanding contribution to flight safety providing named after the chief designer M.P. Simonov”, “For heroism, courage and resource”, “Honorary diploma of Partnership”.
Flights manager of airdrome Irkutsk of branch “Aero navigation of East Siberia” Zaytsev S.N. became a laureate of reward “For great progress in flight safety providing in air traffic organization”. Commander of helicopter MI-8T FSUE “Komaviatrans” Muhin A.V. was rewarded “For heroism, courage and resource”. Chief of air incidents investigation department of Interstate aviation committee Melnik I.I. was rewarded in category “For outstanding contribution to flight safety providing named after the chief designer M.P. Simonov”. Honorary diplomas were presented to general director of “Airport Tolmachevo” JSC Borodin A.V. and general director of “Aviamettelekom” FSI Petrova M.V.
Non-commercial partnership “Flight safety”, which was established in 1999 by air organizations of Russian and CIS states and is the assignee of International fund of aviation safety, has an aim to prevent accident rate and to improve flight safety in civil aviation.
This year a reward for flight safety providing passed justly to “Lake Baikal Airport” JSC. From the foundation airport Ulan-Ude has no air accidents and has been providing flight safety and aviation safety properly.
Such a positive work was reached thanks to efforts of the whole of collective and huge investments of the federal authorities represented by the Federal Agency of Air Transport, FSUE Administration of civil airports (airdromes), owners of the airport and the Government of the Republic of Buryatia. For means of the federal budget there were two stages of reconstruction, which are a component part of the General plan of development of Ulan-Ude airport till 2027, confirmed by the State examination of the Russian Federation. Total amount of investments is about 1.5 billion rubles. The second stage of reconstruction will be finished in 2012.
As a result of all conducted measures, since 2006 airport of Ulan-Ude received permit to serve practically all types of aircrafts on regular base (ÀN-124-100, IL-96-400Ò, Â-767, Â-757, Â-737 (all modifications), ÒU-204 (214), À-319, À-321, À-320, ÀTR-42, SAAB-340, IL-114). Heretofore the airport could accept TU-154 and IL-76 only.
